BENTONVILLE, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — Hundreds of Walmart locations across the country are set to be remodeled later this year, the company announced on Thursday.
The Bentonville, Arkansas-based retailer said in a news release that it plans to continue making a “significant investment” in its stores in 2026.
Walmart said that more than 650 stores, including Supercenters and Neighborhood Markets, are scheduled to be remodeled this year.
Which stores will be renovated?
While Walmart has yet to release a full list of the stores set for remodeling, some locations in the following states have already been announced: Alabama, Arizona, California, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Mississippi, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Texas, Utah and Virginia.

What renovations are being made?
Walmart said in the release that in remodeled stores, customers may see:
- Wider aisles and updated layouts
- Eye-catching displays and expanded assortments
- Expanded pickup and delivery services, including express delivery options
- Updated vision centers and pharmacies with private consultation rooms
- New digital touchpoints helping bring the online assortment into the shopping experience
- Refreshed interiors and exteriors with modern signage, improved parking and landscaping
