PAXTON, Mass. – Severe winds and thunderstorms leading to downed trees and wires in parts of Paxton. As cleanup efforts were underway, residents in the area said this was the worst storm they’ve seen in years.

- Parts of Paxton were hit by a severe storm Tuesday at about 5:30 p.m. Residents said it lasted less than 30 minutes, some said as short as 10 minutes
- The Paxton Selectboard issued a local state of emergency Tuesday night to help with response and recovery efforts
- More than 300 homes lost power
- The Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency toured impacted areas on Wednesday
“We’ve been here for 24 years,” Jim Horton said, “The (2008) ice storm was at least pretty; this is just pretty nasty all the way around.”
