Toledo program teaches people to grow their own food amid rising grocery costs

TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) – The rising cost of groceries is taking a toll, especially on seniors.

Sonia Flunder-McNair, executive director of Urban Wholistics, is on a mission to change that by teaching people how to grow their own food.

“I hear from the seniors and youth and families in my program that food has brought them to spaces where they have had to decide if they’re gonna eat or pay a bill,” Flunder-McNair said…
