A major fire hit the Fremont Country Club June 24, causing roughly $400,000 in damage to buildings and equipment.
“They put lawn mowers away shortly before the fire began. They suspect that maybe they had a hot mower that caught fire, and they didn’t catch it until it was too late,” Battalion Chief Doug Crowell said. “But we don’t have any way to substantiate that. With the amount of damage, we can’t say yes or no to that. That was the caretaker’s theory.”
