Wichita State University student drowns at popular hiking destination in Oregon

WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – A 21-year-old Wichita State University student died by drowning on Friday at a popular outdoor hiking destination in Oregon. Local reports, including from Portland station KPTV, confirmed that Kenny Truong was visiting Tamolitch Falls, commonly known as Blue Pool, in central Oregon when he died.

Several outlets identified Truong as “a Kansas man;” the Eugene Register-Guard newspaper confirmed that Truong was a Wichita State University student.
