GUILDERLAND, N.Y. (NEWS10) — Construction is underway on the new Barnes & Noble at Crossgates Mall in Guilderland, according to a spokesperson for the shopping center. However, the national bookseller chain will reportedly be opening a little later than previously planned.

Crossgates first announced Barnes & Noble’s upcoming arrival in February. Back then, the store was slated to open in late summer, but the timeline has since shifted to sometime in the fall, according to the mall.
Barnes & Noble will be located on the upper level next to REI. The 18,000-square-foot store will carry books, toys, games, and various gifting items, with a cafe and comfortable reading areas where customers can relax.
“This renowned bookseller is a perfect addition to our diverse mix of retail and entertainment brands, and we know it will become a beloved destination for book lovers throughout the Capital Region,” general manager Jennifer Smith said in February.
