RCSO Deputy Clarence Johnson, V indicted on multiple counts, DA confirms

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WJBF) – A Richmond County Sheriff’s Office deputy has been indicted by a grand jury Tuesday on multiple counts, including assault and battery, according to the Augusta District Attorney’s Office.

Clarence Johnson, V, 30, was indicted by a grand jury on July 7 for Violation of Oath by Public Officer, Aggravated Assault, Possession of Firearm During Commission of a Felony, and Aggravated Battery.

Johnson is accused of unlawfully tasing an individual earlier this year on January 11, 2026. He is also accused of pushing the victim to the ground, which cause the victim’s face to strike the pavement, knocking out his teeth…
