Glenmont pizza shop to open second Voorheesville location

VOORHEESVILLE, N.Y. (NEWS10) — A Glenmont-based pizza business is gearing up to open its third spot in Albany County. Anthony Berghela, owner of Romo’s Pizza, said his new restaurant will be located in the Hannaford plaza in Voorheesville at 5 Maple Road.

The pizzeria will take over the former space of Brick House Tavern, which moved to Quail Street in Albany earlier this year. Berghela told NEWS10 that the location’s property manager had reached out to him personally about the space.

The restaurateur already has an Italian restaurant in Voorheesville: Anthony’s by Romo’s Pizza, located at 12 Maple Avenue. However, according to Berghela, the spot struggles with meeting the takeout and delivery demands of the surrounding community. He hopes the upcoming restaurant will solve that problem.

“It will take the pressure off the kitchen at Anthony’s while maximizing what we’re already doing,” Berghela told NEWS10.
