Syracuse, N.Y. – City and county officials have joined with a prominent developer to ask for $26 million from New York state to help jump-start the long-awaited development of the Syracuse Inner Harbor.
If the state comes through, two-thirds of the money would go to Cor Development Co., which controls much of the acreage around the harbor, to build three waterfront apartment buildings with 166 market-rate units and 62 affordable senior apartments.
Other projects would include fixing up the city-owned piers on the eastern shore; extending the Creekwalk to connect with the piers and the new Crouse Hospital Harborview Aquarium; and building a playground at Progress Park on the western shore…
