MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WSFA) – A burglar broke into El Taco Shop on Taylor Road early Tuesday morning, smashing through the front door and stealing a safe containing several days’ worth of cash sales, according to the restaurant’s owner.
The break-in occurred around 3:30 a.m. Surveillance footage shows the suspect walking directly to a security camera and destroying it before breaking into the office.
El Taco Shop owner Leidi Espinosa said the burglar ripped a safe from the wall. No one was inside the restaurant at the time.
“The major thing was our glass door that he broke through, our office door he broke the handle there, and he took the safe with him and ripped it out of where it was in a bigger safe,” Espinosa said…
