Update at 8:34 a.m. on July 15: Meteorologist Eric Platt with the Austin/San Antonio NWS office told MySA they confirmed a tornado that touched down near the Dominion area and moved north towards Leon Springs, weakening as it approached Fair Oaks Ranch. According to Platt, that circulation has weakened. The NWS was able to confirm the tornado through videos that were sent in, alongside a debris signature picked up by their radar. Platt said they haven’t heard of any damage yet, though that may take time to evaluate. Social posts show damage at the Rim and the surrounding area, and TxDOT cameras show debris along I-10.
The tornado warning has expired.
