(FOX40.COM) — Two dogs exhumed from mass grave sites found near a no-kill sanctuary in Humboldt were transferred to the property by Stockton Animal Services, the Stockton Police Department announced in a Wednesday news release.
The sanctuary, Miranda’s Rescue, became the site of an animal cruelty investigation after 117 dead dogs were found across two separate locations on the property in June. The animal sanctuary remains in operation during this investigation, according to the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office.
The two dogs were identified through microchips as pit bull mixes named Ornament and Roselle. Ornament was five years old with gray and white coloring, and Roselle was one year old with brindle coloring, the release said…
