A driver and their passenger were arrested on Thursday after allegedly leading police on a nearly hour-long chase that ended after the driver drove the wrong way up the Northway and struck a State Police vehicle.
The chase began around 3:20 p.m. when State Police tried to pull over a car just north of Exit 18 for a traffic violation, according to Trooper Stephanie O’Neil. The driver did not stop and instead continued driving “on multiple residential and rural roadways,” O’Neil said.
The driver eventually returned to Interstate 87 using the northbound off-ramp at Exit 16, according to State Police. The car traveled the wrong way down northbound lanes until it hit a marked State Police vehicle, police said…
