YORKTOWN, Va. (WAVY) — In a York County General District courtroom Thursday, prosecutors laid out their case against Michael Anthony Disanto for an incident that happened on Blue Heron Drive around 12:30 a.m. April 19 following a crash between a pick-up truck driven by a 17-year-old and a parked Poquoson Police Department cruiser.
Poquoson officer placed on leave following arrest; accused of holding neighbor at gunpoint
The cruiser belonged to Disanto, a Poquoson Police officer who faces felony and misdemeanor charges. The misdemeanor charges were nolle prossed.
The hearing Thursday moved forward on the felony charges of abduction and weapon charges, which ultimately were certified to a grand jury.

Disanto’s attorney, Daniel Yates, objected to the misdemeanor charges being nolle prossed.
“She would not have been able to prove today had we proceeded on the misdemeanors,” Yates said. “That standard would have been beyond a reasonable doubt, not a probable cause, so that was her decision. And that’s why we objected, because we said … my client might be re-arrested at any point on these charges.”…
