SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) – A former North Port police officer and University of Central Florida assistant professor was in Casselberry when a suspect fleeing law enforcement struck his vehicle at more than 100 mph. He and his brother died in the crash.
Christopher “Chris” Marier served with the North Port Police Department from 2007-2013. After leaving law enforcement, he earned a Ph.D. in Criminology and joined UCF as an assistant professor, where he taught and mentored criminal justice students.
Marier and his family remained North Port residents…
