NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A proposed development in 12South is drawing pushback from neighbors who say it could change the area’s character and shift an already challenging parking situation onto more neighborhood streets.
“This place across the street is not welcome as far as I am concerned,” Elizabeth Gregory, who lives in 12South, told News 2. “This is home, and we want to keep it at home.”
The plan calls for a five-story mixed-use building with a mezzanine, featuring 34 short-term rental units and ground-floor retail space.

“It’s something to grieve as the city changes that; spaces are no longer really built for the people who live here,” Sally Shadrach, another 12South resident, said. “This really has just transitioned into a tourist neighborhood, which isn’t super enjoyable for the people who live here. I think that when there are no permanent residents, there’s less investment in the neighborhood.”…
