EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) — An Evansville woman is behind bars after police found a dead dog in a trash can.
An affidavit says that last week, EPD and animal control officers were called to a home on Louisiana Street after a complaint was made about an animal. There, officers found a dead dog wrapped in a black trash bag. Officers also found several other dogs outside the home tied to a chain. Animal control officers say the dogs had been neglected and had large laceration-like injuries caused by flies. No dogs on the property had access to food.
Police say the home was in deplorable condition. Through an open front door, officers say they saw the ceiling and floor beginning to collapse in some areas. The floor was also covered in trash and feces…
