PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A man died after experiencing a medical event on the Angel’s Rest Trail in the Columbia River Gorge on Friday evening, authorities said.
At 8:40 p.m., the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office and Corbett Fire were dispatched to a report of a hiker who experienced a “non-trauma medical emergency” two miles up from the trailhead, the sheriff’s office told KOIN 6 News.
“Other hikers on scene rendered aid, including taking turns performing CPR,” MCSO Public Information Officer Deputy John Plock told KOIN 6 over email. “Despite their efforts, the man was deceased by the time Corbett Fire personnel reached him.”…
