A “long and dangerous” heatwave is expected to hit Southern California this week, according to the National Weather Service.
NWS meteorologists predict an 80% chance of daytime temperatures between 85 and 105 degrees across non-coastal areas starting Wednesday. Some areas could see temperatures closer to 110 degrees.
“Now is the time to start planning ahead of the heat such as changing outdoor plans or finding places to stay cool and socialize this risk with friends and family,” the NWS forecast reads.
