Death of 82-year-old Wyoming woman ruled as homicide, person of interest in custody

WYOMING, Mich. — The Wyoming Police Department is investigating the death of an 82-year-old woman as a homicide.

She was found dead in a home on Marcia Street Southwest near Clyde Park Avenue Southwest around 6:30 a.m. Monday morning, police said, adding that the circumstances of her death appeared to be suspicious. The Kent County Medical Examiner’s Office then determined that it was homicide.

Troopers said a person of interest has since been taken into custody by Indiana State Police after being found near Fort Wayne.

The department is not releasing names yet, but said the two knew each other…
