Western Kentucky is no stranger to severe weather, and at Thursday’s Team Kentucky Update, Governor Andy Beshear spotlighted projects that will support the development of 953 rental homes in the region.
Beshear announced that the state is working with the Kentucky Housing Corporation on 11 housing projects worth over $223 million. He says housing developments are underway in Christian, Hopkins, Graves and Warren counties, which were impacted by tornadoes in 2021.
According to the governor’s office, the projects include apartment complexes that will be income-restricted. Rents will be limited to keep units affordable for moderate- and low-income individuals and families.
