HUNTINGTON, WV (WVNS) — A man from Michigan was sentenced to more than ten years in prison in connection to a Huntington-area drug trafficking case.
According to a press release from the United States Department of Justice, on Monday, July 13, 2026, 35-year-old Lamarr Anthony Welch, also known as “Joe,” of Detroit, Michigan, was sentenced to 11 years in prison, to be followed by five years of supervised release, for 11 felony drug offenses.

The press release stated that Welch revealed his involvement in a drug trafficking organization (DTO) that distributed methamphetamine and fentanyl in the Huntington area.
According to the press release, court documents stated that Welch admitted to being involved in the conspiracy, distributing multiple amounts of methamphetamine which totaled 651 grams on various occasions between March 3, 2025, and August 27, 2025, and distributing 4.4 grams of fentanyl on August 27, 2025 as part of the conspiracy…
