A San Francisco police officer struck and injured a homeless man while driving in North Beach on Monday morning, leaving the person in critical condition, according to the department and police sources.
The officer was making a turn in an alleyway behind Central Station when he struck the man who was sitting or lying on the ground, the sources said. One source said the man was “screaming and yelling.”
