BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Six beluga whales have arrived safely at their new homes after being transported from Marineland in Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canadian Minister of Fisheries Joanne Thompson announced on social media Tuesday.
A total of 30 beluga whales are set to be transported to several SeaWorld locations, as well as other aquariums both in the United States and Spain.
“The first wave of belugas has left Marineland and arrived safely at their new homes,” Thompson said in a statement. “Six whales made the journey, in a rescue led by the group of accredited aquariums, with experienced veterinary and aquarium teams at their side.”…
