Jon Sumrall’s time at the lectern Wednesday in Tampa for the Southeastern Conference’s annual Media Days was business as usual: the first-year UF head coach was transparent regarding the current status of the team, with a mix of humor sprinkled in that led the media assembled at the JW Marriot to audibly laugh at times.
Following Sumrall’s departure from the main stage, with the 44-year-old head coach set to make the rounds on radio row to continue discussing the team he’ll look to field when the Gators open the season on Sept. 5 against Florida Atlantic, the SEC Network crew, including former Alabama head coach Nick Saban, dissected Sumrall’s inaugural address at SEC Media Days.
