The intersection of Baldwin and Magnolia Avenues in Jersey City was officially renamed after former Ward C Councilman Richard Boggiano, with officials today formally declaring it “Richard Boggiano Junction.”
“It couldn’t happen to a better person, a better councilman, my friend for, I guess over 40 years, Rich, right?” began City Clerk Sean Gallagher.
Boggiano was the Ward C Councilman for 12 years, running with former Gov. Jim McGreevey in the November of last year and advancing to the December run-off, but ultimately losing to Tom Zuppa.
Mayor James Solomon, who addressed the crowd before presenting Boggiano with a proclamation honoring the former councilman, said he was “very excited” to be there and recognize his former colleague who we served with for eight years…
