Detective details case against man accused of killing his Fort Stewart soldier wife

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) – A 23-year-old man accused of killing his wife, an active-duty soldier stationed at Fort Stewart, appeared in court Thursday for his preliminary hearing.

23-year-old Tahj Hemphill is charged with the murder of Denise Williams, 23, who he told investigators was his wife.

The hearing centered on events at the couple’s apartment at 1069 Fords Point Circle, where Williams was killed on June 30th, 2026.
