ALBEMARLE COUNTY, Va. (WVIR) – Tom Perriello cast his early ballot in Albemarle County on Friday, voting for himself in the August 4 Democratic primary for Virginia’s 5th Congressional District.
Former U.S. Representative, who held the 5th District seat from 2009 to 2011, is seeking to reclaim it. He said his first priority if elected would be addressing the cost of tariffs.
“On the very first day, we are going to bring down costs for every family in this district for doing exactly reversing what John McGuire’s done,” Perriello said. “These tariffs and this war have taken over $1,000 out of people’s pockets in this district that they’ll never get back.”…
