PEACHTREE CITY, GA — Georgia is heading into a stretch of unsettled weather that could bring isolated severe storms, frequent lightning and pockets of heavy rain through the middle of the week and into the weekend. The National Weather Service office in Peachtree City has issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook for much of north and central Georgia, including Muscogee County.
No severe weather warnings were in place at the time of the outlook, but forecasters said conditions could change as the week goes on. Residents are being urged to keep an eye on updates as the storm risk builds later in the week.
Storms on the way
Monday’s main concern is isolated thunderstorms, with lightning and brief bursts of heavy rain possible during the afternoon and early evening. Tuesday is expected to turn hot and humid, with scattered showers still in the mix.
From Wednesday through Saturday, the outlook calls for scattered thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening hours. Those storms could bring lightning and locally heavy rainfall, especially during the time of day when people are often outdoors.
