WSTM — The Madison County Sheriff’s Office received a letter from the Offices of the Governor and Attorney General to end agreements with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, in order to remain in compliance with provisions passed in the Local Cops, Local Crimes Act.
Sheriff Todd Hood is among the 12 local law enforcement agencies across New York to receive this letter from Governor Kathy Hochul and Attorney General Letitia James. The letter outlines a summary of the passed “Local Cops, Local Crimes Act” legislation, which prohibits any local government or law enforcement agency conducting civil immigration enforcement.
