Trivelli’s Hoagies celebrates 50th anniversary

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — Trivelli’s Hoagies, a family-owned and operated sandwich shop on North Nevada Avenue in Colorado Springs, celebrated its 50th anniversary on Saturday, July 25, with music, drawings, prizes, and swag giveaways, along with plenty of food and drink specials.

Trivellis, located at 2729 North Nevada Avenue, near East Fillmore Street, is known for its award-winning Philadelphia-style cheesetakes and other hoagies. Barbara Trivelli and her husband, John Trivelli, Sr., founded the business in 1976 because Barbara wanted “a taste of her hometown,” bringing one of the first cheesesteak and sandwich shops to Colorado Springs.

Barbara’s son, Steve Trivelli, now owns the shop fifty years later, and the fourth generation of Trivellis serves sandwiches in the shop at its original location.

“We have not changed one single thing,” said Steve. “Every recipe is exactly the same. Every employee is trained exactly the same. We treat all of our employees just like family, just as we always have.”…
