Jack Cassell was 17 when he enlisted in the Navy. On Saturday, he turned 100 — and a room in Roanoke filled up with the people who wanted to be there for it.
The birthday was marked at Mission BBQ, where family and friends gathered around him. Rep. Ben Cline attended and presented Cassell with a letter recognizing the milestone.
