NEWPORT, R.I. (WPRI) — The man who fled from Rhode Island while on trial for sexual assault and spent more than 20 years on the run is expected to appear in Newport Superior Court Monday morning, Target 12 has learned.
Ronald Fischer was taken into custody last Thursday off the coast of New Jersey after the R.I. Violent Fugitive Task Force received a credible tip about his whereabouts.
