ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) – Firefighters with the Roanoke Fire-EMS Department put out a kitchen fire caused by unattended cooking in a Roanoke home on Stewart Ave SE on Sunday, July 26.
At 6:15 p.m., fire crews were dispatched by the 911 command center for reports of a structure fire in the 1100 block of Stewart Ave SE. Firefighters say the caller reported smoke coming from a residential structure.
The first crews to arrive came from Engine 6 A-Shift around 6:18 p.m. and saw smoke coming from a two-story home. The incident was then upgraded to a working fire response…
