LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Las Vegas Arts District employees must pay $30 a month for a space in the newly built $25 million garage, though it doesn’t guarantee a spot. Business owners said it amounts to a tax; the mayor said some people will be unhappy, no matter what you do.
Jeff Hwang, owner of Taverna Costera and Dragon Alley Coffee Shop, took 8 News Now cameras on a tour Wednesday afternoon of the Las Vegas Arts District in the surrounding area of a 500-space parking garage expected to open Sept. 29.
“It’s a very challenging environment right now,” he said. “In addition to the economy and the 115-degree weather, the Arts District is on the verge.”
