GREENSBORO, N.C. (WGHP) — A driver charged with driving while impaired and felony hit-and-run on West Gate City Boulevard on July 23 is facing additional charges.
Shamar Curry, 21, of Fayetteville, is now facing charges of felony serious injury by vehicle, failure to reduce speed to avoid colliding with a person and having an illegally tinted windshield. He was initially charged with felony hit-and-run and driving while impaired after he allegedly hit a man who was crossing the street at the 3500 block of West Gate City Boulevard on July 23.

After the crash, Curry did not stop his vehicle at the scene and continued driving for approximately 1.75 miles before pulling over on Interstate-40 and reporting he had been involved in a crash with another vehicle. Investigators determined through investigation that his vehicle had hit a pedestrian.
