Richmond and Petersburg no longer in a drought

RICHMOND, Va. (WWBT) – Above average rainfall in July helped a lot.

Richmond and Petersburg still considered “abnormally dry” but no longer in a drought.

7.33″ of rain reported at RIC (Richmond International Airport) in July. That’s 3″ more than average.

This is a big improvement from a month ago when most of Virginia was in a severe to extreme drought.

Everyone has seen some improvements…
