RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Roman candles loaded upside down caused sparks to shoot toward the crowd during the Richmond Flying Squirrels’ postgame fireworks display Thursday night, according to a Richmond Fire Department (RFD) incident report.
In the report, published the evening of Friday, July 24, RFD officials said the fireworks were not maintained in the correct position during the baseball team’s postgame fireworks show at CarMax Park the evening of Thursday, July 23.
