LAFAYETTE, LA. (KLFY) — An employee at the Southland Engine Co. Inc. was injured in a flash fire earlier today, according to Lafayette firefighters.
Lafayette firefighters responded to a reported explosion at Southland Engine Co., 6151 Johnston Street, around 10:43 a.m. When firefighters arrived on scene, light smoke was coming from a small section of the repair shop. Employees of the business informed firefighters that an employee sustained minor burns.
Firefighters and medics with Acadian Ambulance assessed the employee’s injuries on scene. There was no sustaining fire in the building; just light smoke. The interior of the repair shop was ventilated by first responders, firefighters said…
