CLEVELAND, Ohio — Two years ago, Cuyahoga County finished a $51 million overhaul of the Huntington Convention Center and the adjoining Global Center for Health Innovation. It was supposed to position Cleveland to compete for bigger conventions and larger crowds.
Apparently, it already isn’t enough.
A new consultant’s report says Cleveland should start thinking even bigger: as much as 180,000 additional square feet of exhibit space, more ballroom capacity and roughly 2,000 new hotel rooms if the city wants to keep pace with competing convention destinations…
