Two Maryland residents are facing charges in Delaware in connection with multiple thefts and attempted thefts dating back to late June – as well as one incident of attempted robbery.
According to Delaware State Police, power tools and equipment as well as groceries were loaded into shopping carts at stores in the Newark, Bear and Christiana areas. In some cases, the attempted thefts were thwarted.
State Police say Monday July 27th at the Shop Rite on Chestnut Hill Road, an employee tried to stop the theft, but police said 25-year-old Haley Barton of North East, Maryland pepper-sprayed the worker, and 37-year-old Matthew Osborne assisted with her escape…
