Lincoln woman sentenced after abandoning dead, emaciated dogs

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) — A Lincoln woman has been sentenced after starving two dogs to death in their cages before abandoning the bodies when she was evicted, court records show.

Prosecutors sentenced 29-year-old Brigid English with to two year’s probation with specific conditions.

According to court documents, English must:

  • Not own any domestic animals for five years
  • Not leave Nebraska without permission
  • Complete a responsible pet ownership program and cognitive programming
  • Not possesses any alcohol or enter a place where the primary income is alcohol sales
  • Take all prescribed medications
