‘Brutal’ stretch of heat causing big problems for Minneapolis coffee shop

A Vietnamese coffee shop in south Minneapolis is having a rough couple of weeks amid the extreme heat.

At its flagship location in the Linden Hills neighborhood, Càphin had its walk-in cooler break twice and its air conditioner give out for the third and final time, forcing the cafe to close earlier than usual.

“The heat has been absolutely brutal,” the business wrote in a Thursday social media post. “We’ve had to shut down early for the safety of our staff and guests. We’ve never had a major issue like this before, but I guess there’s a first time for everything.”…
