LOUISVILLE, KY — A line of strong storms is moving through Kentucky and Tennessee this Saturday, with radar showing heavy rain and embedded storms stretching from the Louisville metro area southward through Bowling Green, Nashville, and Murfreesboro. Forecasters say better chances for severe weather are expected to arrive later in the day.
Heaviest Activity Tracking Through Central Kentucky
Radar imagery shows a broad area of moderate to heavy rain extending from near Vernon and Madison southward through the Louisville metro, with embedded cells producing heavier rainfall rates as the system moves through Elizabethtown and Campbellsville.
The most intense storm activity is tracking through south-central Kentucky, with radar-indicated hail cores and heavier rain bands visible near Bowling Green and Franklin as the line continues to organize and push southward into Tennessee.
Nashville Metro Sees Strongest Storm Activity
Farther south, the strongest storms on radar are concentrated near Nashville, Gallatin, and Murfreesboro, where lightning strikes and heavy rain cores are clearly visible pushing through the metro area. Cookeville and Livingston are also seeing rounds of heavier rain as the broader system continues its southward progression.
Additional storm activity is developing farther west near Columbia and Lawrenceburg, suggesting the line of storms is expanding in coverage as it moves across Middle Tennessee.
