KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) – Two rounds of strong-to-severe storms are expected to move through East Tennessee on Saturday.
SATURDAY: Rain and storm chances will increase as a cold front approaches the region. The first round of storms is forecasted to begin in the morning in the western counties and will track eastward throughout the day. These storms will likely be stronger in the Cumberland Plateau and will lose intensity as they move east. A second round of stronger storms is anticipated to develop in the evening and continue overnight. The main impacts of these storms will include localized flooding and straight-line winds. There is also a low-end risk of a brief spin-up.
SUNDAY: Some storm activity is still expected early on Sunday, but the remainder of the day will see only spotty lingering showers and storms. Coverage will be much lower, with temperatures stabilizing in the mid-80s…
