The National Weather Service in Blacksburg, Virginia issued the following Hazardous Weather Outlook at 2:22 a.m. Sunday for north central and northwest North Carolina, including Watauga County, along with central, south central, southwest and west central Virginia and southeast West Virginia:

Counties covered: Ashe, Alleghany, Surry, Stokes, Watauga, Wilkes and Yadkin in North Carolina; Tazewell, Smyth, Bland, Giles, Wythe, Pulaski, Montgomery, Grayson, Carroll, Floyd, Craig, Alleghany, Bath, Roanoke, Botetourt, Rockbridge, Patrick, Franklin, Bedford, Amherst and Henry in Virginia; and Mercer, Summers, Monroe, and Eastern and Western Greenbrier in West Virginia.
