Apple Valley’s plumbing-systems giant has given its North American headquarters a $11.4 million reset, trading the old office routine for a workplace built around collaboration, flexibility and a very deliberate water theme. The yearlong renovation covers 47,000 square feet and was designed for roughly 600 employees whose schedules no longer fit neatly into the traditional office mold.
GF Building Flow Solutions, home of the Uponor brand, marked the reopening last Thursday with a ribbon-cutting attended by Apple Valley Mayor Clint Hooppaw and Swiss Ambassador Ralf Heckner. The company’s official announcement said the ceremony was meant to showcase a reimagined headquarters while highlighting the continuing integration of GF and Uponor.
The office is now organized around two employee categories: resident workers and hybrid employees, according to Pioneer Press coverage. Hybrid employees make up about 75% of the Apple Valley workforce and can reserve workspaces suited to the day’s assignment, while resident employees are expected to work in the office four or five days a week and receive dedicated spaces with their names on the doors.
A Headquarters Built Around The GF-Uponor Merger
GF acquired Finnish plumbing company Uponor in 2023, and the Apple Valley renovation is part workplace overhaul and part corporate identity project.
