COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — A police chase covering multiple alleged crime scenes has resulted in the death of one person, according to authorities.
At 2:38 a.m. Monday the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office said a patrolling deputy heard shots fired in the area of South High Street and Mound Street in the Downtown area. The deputy reported that he saw and began following two vehicles, with individuals shooting at each other.

The pursuit ended in the Livingston Avenue area, where Columbus police officers joined the efforts, with CPD reporting that it joined backup efforts at 2:41 a.m. near the intersection of Mooberry Street and Miller Avenue, near the Miller, Kelton interchange along Interstate 70 East.
Officers located an abandoned vehicle in the area of Manning Avenue and Kent Street several blocks east of the interchange, but no one was located nearby.
