Military families get free back-to-school supplies at community event

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Military families were able to stock up on school supplies at the Operation Homefront Back-to-School event in northeast Albuquerque.

The program launched in 2008 and has distributed more than 630,000 backpacks to military children. Event coordinators say events like these are helping for families serving in the military. “It’s a really awesome event that Operation Homefront is putting on. It provides financial support and relief for families for back-to-school, it’s a great community event,” Technical Sergeant Tara Guy said.
