UPDATE: 22 flights diverted from DEN to COS

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — In an update, COS Airport said a final count of diverted flights shows a total of 22 aircraft were diverted from Denver to Colorado Springs, with four of those being international flights. This number has been updated from the initial report of 29 total flights.

The first diverted aircraft arrived at approximately 4:40 p.m., with the final diverted aircraft arriving at approximately 8 p.m. As of 10:00 p.m., all diverted aircraft had departed COS.

“Colorado Springs Airport remained open and operational throughout the event,” a spokesperson from COS Airport said. “COS and CSFD appreciate the coordinated efforts of airport personnel, airline partners, emergency responders and supporting agencies.”
